Synopsis
The film revolves around a rumble in the jungles of the Jim Corbett National Park in the north Indian State of Uttarnchal. A wildlife researcher (Abraham) and his shutter-happy girlfriend (Deol) meet a group of tourists, including Oberoi and Dutta, and things start getting eerir as people begin to disappear.
Their foe appears to be half beast, half ghost. The bewildered forsome of Abraham, Deol, Dutta and Oberoi come accross a village chief (Devgan), who seems to know what evil they are up against. They must fight to survive.
Shah Rukh Khan and Malliaka Arora will appear in a song in the movie.
Lara Dutta
Lara Dutta started off her career in modeling and went on to acquire the Miss Universe crown. She made her debut in Bollywood alongside Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in Suneel Darshan's film Andaaz. She made such an impact in the film that she went on to win the Best Debut Female award at the Filmfare awards. There was no stopping Lara after that, she starred in films like Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost, Masti, Elaan and Jurm.
Vivek Oberoi
Vivek Oberoi took the film world by storm when he first made his debut in Ram Gopal Varma's under-world drama, Company. He won numerous awards and critical acclaim for his role in this movie.
This was followed by projects with some of the best names in the industry - Shaad Ali' Saathiya, Mani Ratnam's Yuva, Indra Kumar's Masti and Boney Kapoor's Kyon Ho Gaya Na among others.
His most recent project was Kisna, with Subhash Ghai.
Ajay Devgan
One of the most versatile actors in Indian Film Industry today, Ajay Devgan's career spans over 50 films in a span of 14 years. His debut, Phool Aur Kaante (1991) was a Box office blockbuster. The enviable list of directors he has worked with include Mani Ratnam, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, J.P.Dutta, Raj Kumar Santoshi, Ram Gopal Varma, Mahesh Bhatt and Rituparno Ghosh, among others.
He has won 2 National Awards for his performances in Zakhm (1999) and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2003).
Esha Deol
The girl that created 'Dhoom', Esha Deol, is eldest daughter of Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Esha has got her mother's beauty and her father's acting sensibilities to make her own film career. Esha has been trained in classical dancing and has also played national level football. She has completed her Masters in Media Arts and has a Bachelor Degree In Computer Technology from Oxford University.
Esha made her debut in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe opposite Aftab Shivdastani. After which, she was cast in many big banner films which include J P Dutta's L.O.C. & Mani Ratnam's Yuva among others.
The Bollywood fraternity has acknowledged her talents as an actress by awarding her the Best Newcomer Award at the IIFA Awards, Filmfare Awards, Bollywood Movie Awards, Screen Awards and the Sansui Viewer's Choice Award.
John Abraham
One needs no introduction to John Abraham. He was the winner of the Gladrags Manhunt in 1999 and was also the 1st runner up in the International Manhunt.
Like most models, John too, aspired to be an actor. Producer Pooja Bhatt signed him to play the lead for her film, Jism that also starred Bipasha Basu. Jism of course stood to be a huge hit in 2003.
John has starred in many films since, with some of the most reputed banners in the industry. His list of films include Vikram Bhatt's Aetbaar, Mukesh Bhatt's Saaya and of course 2004's blockbuster smash hit Dhoom with Yashraj Productions
